TeacherActive is proud to be working with an established specialist provision in Glastonbury that supports students aged 7 to 16 with Specific Learning Differences / SpLD, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia. The school has a unique ethos and innovative approach to education, with a commitment to excellence in supporting Specific Learning Differences and blended learning.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant on a full-time temporary basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will provide classroom and small group support, helping students overcome barriers to learning, develop independence and access tailored support that meets their individual learning needs.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND or Specific Learning Differences / SpLD, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia or dysgraphia
• A good understanding of supporting pupils with additional learning needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach to supporting learning
• A proactive attitude and genuine passion for helping students achieve their potential
