TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEN school in Bridgwater that supports students aged 4 to 19, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan / EHCP. The school provides a welcoming, inclusive and nurturing environment with specialist facilities designed to promote independence, confidence and a strong sense of belonging.
The school is looking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant on a temporary basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work alongside teachers and the wider support team to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties / PMLD, Autism Spectrum Condition / ASC, moderate and severe learning difficulties and sensory impairments, helping them to engage with learning and make meaningful progress.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND or additional learning needs
Knowledge or experience of supporting pupils with PMLD, ASC, moderate or severe learning difficulties and/or sensory impairments
A caring, patient and adaptable approach to supporting learners
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students and colleagues
A genuine passion for helping children and young people achieve positive outcomes
