TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Yeovil that supports pupils from Year 1 to Year 8 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment where pupils are supported to develop their confidence, resilience, independence and emotional wellbeing.

The school is looking to take on a full-time Learning Support Assistant on a temporary basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will provide one-to-one and small group support, assist pupils with managing their emotions and behaviour, adapt learning activities to individual needs and work closely with teaching and pastoral staff.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
• Previous experience within a SEND or educational setting
• A positive and consistent approach to behaviour management
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A patient, resilient and adaptable attitude
