Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour

Are you looking for a full-time Learning Support Assistant role within a supportive specialist SEN school this September?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEN school in Weston-super-Mare supporting students in Years 5 to 11 with Education, Health and Care Plans / EHCPs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The school provides a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where positive relationships, emotional wellbeing and personal development are at the heart of each student's education.
The school is looking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant on a temporary basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work alongside teachers and the wider pastoral team to support students in and out of the classroom, promote positive behaviour and engagement with learning, and help pupils develop their confidence and independence.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviours
Experience within a school, SEND or alternative provision setting is desirable
A caring, patient and empathetic approach to supporting learners
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to remain calm, resilient and adaptable in challenging situations
A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team
