Job Description
TeacherActive is currently recruiting Nursery Practitioners to work in a variety of well-established and supportive nurseries across Chelmsford.

This role is ideal for qualified childcare professionals looking for flexible work or a long-term position within early years education. You will play a key role in supporting children’s development in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be responsible for supporting children aged 0–5 in their early learning journey, helping to create stimulating activities that promote development across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). You will work closely with other staff members to ensure each child receives the care, attention, and encouragement they need to thrive.

You will also be expected to contribute to creating a welcoming and inclusive nursery environment where children feel safe, valued, and confident to explore and learn through play.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging activities in line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework
• Support children’s learning and development through play
• Ensure a safe, secure, and stimulating environment
• Assist with daily routines (feeding, toileting, nap times)
• Observe, assess, and record children’s progress
• Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues

Requirements

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare (essential)
• Experience working in a nursery or early years setting (preferred)
• Knowledge of the EYFS framework
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
