TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist school in Westbury supporting pupils aged 11 to 18 who have experienced challenges within previous educational settings. With small class sizes and a supportive environment, the school encourages pupils to rebuild their confidence, develop positive relationships with learning and recognise their individual strengths.

The school is looking to appoint a Qualified Teacher from September on a full-time, temporary, long-term basis. The successful Qualified Teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans / EHCPs, primarily supporting students with ASD and SEMH needs while maintaining clear expectations, effective classroom management and a consistent approach to learning.

The successful Qualified Teacher will have:

• QTS / Qualified Teacher Status (ECTs are welcome to apply)
• Experience teaching pupils at secondary level
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD and/or SEMH needs
• A strong understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans / EHCPs
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• A resilient, patient and adaptable approach to teaching
